What is Rocket Soccer Derby?

Rocket Soccer Derby is a car soccer game made by Destruction Crew, and you can play it free here in your browser. Instead of running players, each team drives cars around a stadium and tries to bump, boost and jump a big ball into the other team's goal. It is a team game, Blue Team against Red Team, and every match runs on a time limit. It runs in the browser with no download, so you can play Rocket Soccer Derby unblocked on a school Chromebook when your school allows games.

You may also see it called Rocket Soccer, the name it uses on Poki, or find it by searching Rocket Derby. People also land here searching for a Retro Bowl soccer game. Retro Bowl is football, not soccer, but if you like quick sports games with a career to grow, this one fits. You can play quick matches against computer drivers, work through single-player leagues, and spend your winnings on new cars and parts in the garage.

Key features

  • Car soccer: Drive into the ball to pass and shoot, and use your car to block shots in front of your own goal.
  • Nitro and jump: Fill up your nitro bar for bursts of speed and jump to hit the ball while it is in the air.
  • Ball focus camera: Press one key to switch the camera so it keeps the ball in view.
  • Two stadiums: Play in DC Stadium during the day or DC Stadium Night.
  • 10 cars: Buy cars from the Car Shop with dollars, or pay with gears on the black market.
  • Deep customizing: Change paint (gloss, matte and special), decals, patterns, wheels, exhausts, 25 front bumpers, 25 rear bumpers, hats and 17 nitro effects.
  • Leagues and seasons: Put together a team of drivers and play through a season calendar with standings and a league roadmap.
  • XP, ranks and dailies: Earn XP to rank up, complete daily objectives and collect daily rewards.

How to play Rocket Soccer Derby

  1. The first time you play, the game asks if you want the tutorial. It is recommended, so say yes.
  2. Pick your first car. Use the arrow button to scroll through the cars and press BUY on the one you want.
  3. From the main menu, choose a mode, such as a quick match or an offline match against computer opponents (bots).
  4. Drive at the ball, hit it toward the other team's goal and score before the time runs out. The scoreboard shows "scored!" with the player's name after each goal.
  5. Use nitro to reach the ball first and jump to hit high balls.
  6. After the match, check your XP, completed challenges and match results, then return to the main menu.
  7. Spend the dollars you earn in the garage to customize your car or buy a better one.

Rocket Soccer Derby cars and prices

There are 10 cars in the Car Shop. Each one can be bought with dollars or, on the black market, with gears:

Cars are rated for acceleration, handling, health, nitro, top speed and weight. Upgrades like engine upgrades improve these stats. New parts take some time to be delivered before you can install them, but you can pay to skip the wait. Installing new parts also raises your car's freshness, and a fresher car earns more XP and money from every match.

Leagues and drivers

The single-player league mode lets you put together a team and play a season, week by week, with a calendar, standings and a league roadmap. You need enough drivers in your line-up to play, and you can hire more from the transfer market. Drivers are rated in defense, offense, skill and speed. Some leagues only allow one type of car, and the game tells you to pick a car from the right category in your garage. These are the 10 leagues, in order:

6Offroad LeagueOff the road!
7Master LeagueMaster
8Legend LeagueLegend

Challenges give extra XP for things like scoring a goal, assisting a goal, completing a round of soccer and being part of the winning team.

Tips and strategy

  • Use the ball camera: Press F when you lose track of the ball. Keeping it on screen makes it much easier to line up shots and saves.
  • Save nitro for races to the ball: Your nitro bar is limited, so use it to win loose balls or get back on defense instead of holding it down all the time.
  • Jump late on high balls: Press Space as the ball drops toward bumper height, not when it first goes up.
  • Use the mouse buttons: Left click for nitro and right click for jump frees your left hand to steer with WASD.
  • Keep your car fresh: Installing new parts raises freshness, which boosts the XP and money you earn, so a cheap new part can pay for itself.
  • Buy a car for the league: Some leagues need a certain type of car, like the Offroad League, so check the league before you spend your dollars.
  • Do your dailies: Daily objectives and daily rewards are an easy source of extra XP and currency.
