What is Dark Runner?

Dark Runner (full title Dark Runner: Shadow Parkour) is a side-scrolling parkour runner made by Playtouch. You control a black silhouette runner who sprints forward on their own through a shadowy city, jumping over cars, rocks, and barricades, running up stairs and ramps, and sliding through tight spots. The game is split into separate levels rather than one endless run, and it plays directly in your web browser with no download or account required.

Because the runner keeps moving forward, the challenge is all about timing. Checkpoints along each level mean a mistake does not always send you back to the very start, and stars reward clean, fast runs.

Tips and strategy

• Look ahead, not at the runner: Watching the right side of the screen gives you more time to react to the next obstacle.
• Start slides early: Beginning a slide a moment before a low obstacle makes sure the runner is fully down in time.
• Do not mash buttons: Pressing jump too often leads to mistimed leaps; wait for a clear landing spot.
• Learn each level: Levels are fixed layouts, so every attempt teaches you where the tricky sections are.
